Getting started
From sign-up to your first upload in a few minutes.
1. Sign in
Open the console and type your email. We send a sign-in code; the first sign-in makes your account on the Free plan (5 GB, no card).
2. Make a bucket
A bucket holds your files. On the Buckets page choose New bucket, give it a name and pick a region (North America or Europe). Names are 3 to 56 characters: lowercase letters, digits and single hyphens, like my-files. They only need to be unique within your account.
3. Upload from the console
Open the bucket to browse it: upload files, make folders, download and delete. That's enough for a few files. For anything bigger, use a tool with an access key.
4. Create an access key
On the Keys page choose New key. Pick read-write or read-only, and all buckets or only some. You get an access key id (starts with TPS) and a secret. The secret is shown once: copy it into your tool or password manager straight away. Lost it? Revoke the key and make a new one.
5. Connect a tool
Every S3 tool needs the same three things: the endpoint https://s3.tport.space, your key id and secret. The region can be anything; use auto.
aws configure --profile tport # key id, secret, region auto aws s3 cp report.pdf s3://my-files/ --endpoint-url https://s3.tport.space --profile tport aws s3 ls s3://my-files/ --endpoint-url https://s3.tport.space --profile tport
Settings for rclone, boto3, the JavaScript SDK and others are in S3 tools and SDKs. To serve a bucket on the web, see Public files.
