Limits and supported operations
What each plan includes and which parts of the S3 API you can use.
Plans
| Free | Standard | |
|---|---|---|
| Storage | 5 GB | 250 GB |
| Reads a month | 500,000 | 1,000,000 |
| Writes a month | 50,000 | 100,000 |
| Buckets | 3 | 100 |
| Access keys | 5 | 50 |
| Downloads | Free, no cap | Free, no cap |
At the limits
Free: at 5 GB stored or 50,000 writes in a month, uploads are refused until you free space or move to Standard. Downloads, listing and deletes keep working. At 500,000 reads, downloads pause until the next month. Nothing is deleted.
Standard: nothing stops. Storage over 250 GB is $0.02 per GB-month, extra reads $0.40 per million and extra writes $5 per million.
Reads are GET and HEAD of files; writes are uploads, copies, listings and multipart steps. Deletes are free.
Files and buckets
- One upload request (PutObject or one part): up to 100 MB. Bigger files use multipart, which S3 tools switch to on their own: up to 10,000 parts, so files up to about 1 TB.
- Bucket names: 3 to 56 characters, lowercase letters, digits and single hyphens.
- A deleted bucket can be restored from the console for 7 days.
- Unfinished multipart uploads are cleaned up after 7 days.
Supported S3 calls
| Buckets | ListBuckets, HeadBucket, GetBucketLocation, GetBucketVersioning (always off) |
| Listing | ListObjects, ListObjectsV2 (prefix, delimiter, pages) |
| Files | GetObject (ranges, conditional, response headers), HeadObject, PutObject, CopyObject, DeleteObject, DeleteObjects |
| Multipart | CreateMultipartUpload, UploadPart, UploadPartCopy, ListParts, ListMultipartUploads, CompleteMultipartUpload, AbortMultipartUpload |
| Signing | Signature V4 in headers or presigned links (up to 7 days); signed, unsigned and chunked upload bodies |
Not supported yet: creating or deleting buckets over the API (use the console), ACLs, bucket policies, tagging, versioning, object lock, and bucket CORS or lifecycle settings. These answer NotImplemented.
